Āyurveda
Āyurveda directly translates to the science (āyuh) of life (veda)
According to Dr. Vasant Lad, pioneer of Ayurveda in the United States, explains,
"Āyurveda is a medical science and its purpose is to heal and maintain the quality and longevity of life. It is an art of daily living that has evolved from practical, philosophical and spiritual illumination, rooted in the understanding of creation."
"It offers a profound understanding of each person's unique body, mind, and consciousness. The knowledge contained in Āyurveda deals with the nature, scope and purpose of life, and includes its metaphysical and physical aspect--health & disease, happiness & sorrow, pain & pleasure." - Dr. Lad
Nature within us
We are all nature, and we are all a combination of the 5 elements. (earth, fire, water, air, space) We all perceive our environments through the 5 senses (taste, touch, smell sight & sound) Ayurveda views good health or disease as the direct result of how we interact with our environment through our senses.
If we are able to stay in harmony with nature, we will stay in good health. However, becoming out of sync with nature will lead to imbalance and eventually lead to dis-ease.
The Qualities expressed
Ayurveda combines the elements and their qualities based on the senses to form the 3 doshas, known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Counselors work through these 3 doshas in a process of balancing the body, mind, and spirit from the inside out.
Ayurveda is an ancient healing system that looks at patterns within a person and offers a combination of whole foods, herbs, spices, breathwork, and movement, to heal and re balance all areas of life.
Plant medicine
In 2022, with the Natural Medicine Health Act, Colorado became one of the first states to legalize the supervised use of psychedelic plant medicine!
With the passing of Proposition 122 , Psilocybin-assisted therapeutic services will be legally available in Colorado towards the end of 2024. We are waiting for the State to finalize the rules and regulations for licensed healing centers.
Proposition 122 states that it is no longer a criminal offense under State law to obtain, possess, or ingest psilocybin, effective immediately. People may also share or give away psilocybin mushrooms without remuneration (i.e., without payment) to others who are at least twenty-one years old.
