For the Love of Horses is an annual community gathering and storytelling project rooted in the bond between horses and people. It is a place to gather, to learn, to listen, and to remember the horses who shaped us.​​​​
Why We Gather

Horses meet us honestly. They respond to presence, not performance. For many of us, a horse was the first place we felt safe, seen, or steady.​
For the Love of Horses began as a way to honor that truth.
This project exists to collect and share
real stories of connection.
Stories of love, loss, healing, resilience, and return.
Stories of horses who carried us through hard seasons.
Stories of people who showed up for horses when it mattered.
Some stories are quiet. Some are life changing. All of them matter.
Heart horse of 2026
This year, we honor Taffy.

Taffy’s story speaks to patience, trust, and the long road back to softness.
It is a reminder that healing happens in relationship and on its own timeline.
At the event, we will share Taffy’s journey and what she continues to teach us about presence, consent, and care.

Sharing the Stories
For the Love of Horses is also a storytelling project.
We are collecting stories from our community about the horses who shaped their lives.
These stories will be shared across Wild Pine’s platforms and preserved in our first published collection.
We are looking for stories of:
A horse who saved you
A horse who taught you how to love or heal
A horse who carried you through change
A horse you will never forget
Some stories may be featured online.
Twelve stories will be selected for inclusion in our first for the love of horses publication

You are invited to submit below:
A written story of your heart horse
A photo, if you have one
Stories do not need to be polished or perfect. They need to be honest.
You may submit anonymously if preferred.
